| Closing down |
Good day everyone. I want to advise all members and guests that the guild is now officially closed.
As noted below, the officers decided to depart and form a new guild based on strict raid requirements.
The GM, Died - has departed to rejoin Crimson Shadow, and pursue setting up raiding elements within their larger organization.
If you were removed over the last few days, please feel free to contact Died if you are interested in raiding at CS, or if you prefer to join the officers interested in a strictly enforced mandatory raid attendance environment, Meller, Lucy, Sukubus, and Synndora are now heading up a guild named Polarity.
I wish you all well in your future endeavors, and hope you all enjoyed your time with Is Dedicated as much as I did, breif though it may have been. |
| Departures and revisions |
Good day everyone, this is intended to be a brief summary of recent events. The officer core and myself have recently come to the conclusion that we do not share the same image of what will make an effective guild, or of what is necessary to raid.
The key difference between our ways of thinking, as summarized by one of the officers, is the difference between a black and white veiwpoint, and shades of gray. It is my opinion that exceptions are a necessary part of life - and that real life is a priority. I also believe that mistakes can and will happen, and that we can learn from these and continue to succeed.
It is the opinion of the other officers that this is a weakness that cannot be present in a raiding guild in order for it to succeed, and that strict rules must be enforced at all times.
As a result of this fundamental difference of beliefs, the following officres have chosen to depart the guild to pursue their interests elsewhere: Lucy, Meller, Theboo, and Synndora, as well as their associated alts.
I wish all 4 individuals all the best, and have enjoyed the time I have spent playing with them and hope to continue to play with them in the future.
To anyone that would prefer an absolutely strict set of raid rules for members, please feel free to contact one or all of them - at the moment it is my intention at this time to continue with this guild and to progress with raids, although I can not make any promises for the future. |
| Raid signups |
While we have a wonderful core of raiders that are successfully chewing up Kara and progressing into ZA, we have a lot of 70's that haven't been signing up...
Please signup for raids. We are trying to get together two full 10-man teams, going to kara on a weekly basis, as well as ZA once they have the necessary gear.
If you don't sign up... you won't get to go. If you don't get to go... you won't progress through the raids. If you are not interested in progressing through the raids, this is probably not the best guild for you. |
| Recruitment Policy |
In order to ensure we are recruiting only the right sort of people, it is important that we are careful with our recruitment. Here are some basic guidelines, although exceptions can be made where needed:
1. We are not an open membership. Not everyone that asks to join will be accepted. Try to gather information before recruiting - run an instance with them, get to see how they play. Some good points to keep in mind:
- Do they play enough to be actively involved?
- Do they play at similar times to the guild (Server times evenings and weekends) - will they be ready and able to raid with us during our core raid times?
- What role will they fill in a raid group, and is it an area in which we need more players?
2. We are looking for players for raiding. This is our priority, and it should be the priority of most players in the guild.
3. As we are focused on level 70 content (Raids and Heroics) - we should not be recruiting low-level players. Our current recruitment is targeted at Level 70 players only. This is not to say that we cannot recruit below this for the right person - especially for those you know in real life, or alts of higher level characters.
4. We are not interested in an enormous membership. Each individual should have a reason for why they are in the guild:
- they are an active member of the raid teams
- they support the raid teams in some way
- they are an alt for someone in the guild
- they are someone known to a member of the guild in real life. |
